After talking to the people in the Last Village again, they mention a suspicious person on the cape who is looking for us. Let's go see who it is... Magus!? He tells us that he used to live in Zeal Palace, but he was a different person... He talks about how he was trying to defeat Lavos in his castle before we interrupted him, Lavos' power, and mentions Crono. Wait, what... he wants to fight us?! No way!!! After Frog talks to him for a second, we try to leave, but... wha... MAGUS JOINS US??!! HELL YEAH!!! We chat with the villagers again... but there's a purple kitty following us... wait... it's following Magus... So... Magus was Janus?! O.O Anyways, we do a bit more exploring, and end up back at End of Time. Let's talk to the Old Man and see if we can't figure out what to do. We get an egg...? Oh, it's called the "Chrono Trigger". Apparently we can use this thing to get Crono back. ... Wait, the Old Man is the Guru of Time? ... After talking to him, we head back to 2,300 A.D. and fumble around trying to find Belthesar. We find him and get the info we came for. We need a clone, and someone who can make one for us loves festivals. Hey, we know where there's a festival being held! Back to 1,000 A.D. we go!
