This is the eighth of a series of doing Let's Plays on "classic games." Classic games in this sense are, pretty much whatever I consider a classic, usually old and becoming somewhat obscure but trend setting games.

In Japan, Dragon Warrior is known as Dragon Quest, and it in fact overshadows Final Fantasy in terms of popularity as a series. This is somewhat the opposite of the USA where Final Fantasy is more popular. This is the first Dragon Warrior game ever released as far as I know for the NES. It is a trendsetting game in that it establishes many of the hallmarks of the (J)RPG genre.

This video features my rescuing of Princess Gwaelin. The first time I attempt to do so I accidentally die, but the second time I survive. Once I return the Princess to Tantegel Castle I proceed to continue to adventure. First I do some trekking around locked doors in the castle, then I travel to Garinham. There, I follow the red knight's advice and travel behind the large building to go into the Grave of Garinham. In the grave I adventure around, but accidentally die after confronting a Wraith Knight. So, I travel south of Garinham, past the cave with the Figher's Ring, and gain some levels. I do happen to acquire the Cursed Belt in the Grave, which I DO NOT WEAR of course, but sell at the item shop in Garinham at the end of the video.
