Lets Play Creativerse: A new game - Episode #1
10Kind of like Minecraft, but slightly different :)
Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Freddy Plays!
In todays episode, we’re playing something new, something I’ve not played before and something that somehow seems very familiar! It’s a free title I picked up on Steam called Creativerse. At first glance, I almost didn’t bother, simply because after having played Minecraft on and off for about a year, I wasn’t really interested in playing what looked like a Minecraft clone. But, I decided that I would give it a shot and test it on it’s own merits.
After playing for about half an hour, it pretty much seems to be a Minecraft clone, but that’s not to say it’s not fun! Minecraft is fun, after all!
I haven’t had a lot of time to explore much, as I’m trying not to make these episodes too long, but so far it seems cool enough, with just a few differences to make it stand slightly apart from Minecraft, and only time will tell if that’s a good thing or not.
I haven’t had a chance (as of the making of this video) to go through the building system yet, and so I can’t really talk much about it, but I kind of like the idea of having some prefab buildings you can plop down, instead of having to make everything from scratch. We’re not all super creative, and we don’t all have the time to build our own custom ultra-castle-mansions! I do look forward to exploring the building system as I play it more.
So far, Creativerse seems fun and vibrant, with an assortment of alien life and a multitude of resources to collect. Starting off with the glove which can harvest things for you is also a huge boost, as you don’t spend the first 20 minutes trying to work out how to build a shovel or axe! There are a few different types of glove available, and a few blocks that my current glove couldn’t mine, so I’m expecting to unlock new tech constantly. And whilst editing the video, I thought I noticed a little XP bar underneath a few of the items in my build list, so perhaps you unlock some items through use of other items, which is also kinda cool!
