Ok, I don't know why we had to go to Genesis' crazy fanboy basement, which is the most unnecessarily over-the-top melodramatic pile of garbage that has no place in this really really good game with excellent characters and stuff — BUT THE ACTUAL ENDING WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED IT TO BE. And by that I mean I cried buckets. It was great. Especially with Tseng and Cissnei ♥♥♥♥♥♥
And Aerith's letters, being ridiculous, and also puppy Angeal. I'm sorry that I couldn't figure out what Lazard's deal was at first, but I like what they wound up doing with him, even if it was disorienting. Really, I liked pretty much everything in the game that wasn't Genesis.
At least that one giant Genesis fight was actually really interesting as far as strategy goes...
So! Now what do we play? Something more lighthearted as filler for a couple weeks, then back into tragedy and tragicomedy? Hmmmmm...
