I know I said I'd start with The White Door, but I took another look at the games in order of release and I made an error. We're gonna start with this one. It's still 1972. It's been a full year since homicide detective Dale Vandermeer began a case to solve the murder of Laura Vanderboom only to be lured into the mysteries of Rusty Lake and the path to enlightenment. Continue this journey or solve the murder and try to prevent Laura's fate? Can he have both? He wakes up in what is referred to as the Paradox Room. How long he's been here is unknown. He has no recollection how he got here, but the place is very familiar to him as if he's been here before. He is determined to find Laura, and believes that Case 23 is the key to escaping his mind. After solving half of the room's puzzles and looking into the mirror he sees his Corrupted Soul and loses consciousness.
