Since our past forays into the great blue yonder have usually ended with Steve''s plane crashing into the ground, Stephan has decided to change things up a little bit and will attempt to guide Steve through the basics of flying on the basis of the L39-C in DCS World.

This may be a bit drier than our usual material, but it is still a worthwhile exercise to check out. Since we did this somewhat off the cuff, it will probably not be all encompassing or supremely professional, but good fun and educational regardless.

About DCS World:
Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) is a free-to-play digital battlefield game, focusing on simulation of military aircraft. It includes the FREE Su-25T and TF-51D aircraft and it is extensible through additional DCS modules as well as user-made add-ons and mods.

DCS World includes a vast mission area of the Caucasus region that encompasses much of Georgia - the location of the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008.

About the L 39:
Two seat Jet trainer aircraft L-39C is intended for basic and advanced pilot training in visual and instrument flight rules weather conditions, day and night and also for combat use against air and ground targets.
Its development started in the middle 60s of the last century by the Czech “Aero Vodochody”. In the 70s the aircraft has entered service and is still in the operational use in over 30 countries worldwide.
