Let's Play Digimon World: Next Order Part 106 - Tips For Raising Rookie Level Digimon
Continuing on from the previous part, I show off how much stronger my rookie level digimon have become after two in game days worth of training off screen.
On top of training my digimon, and getting them back up to champion level, this part has a few tips for training rookie level digimon!
My tips for getting the most out of your rookie level digimon is to focus on battling other digimon.
Find a digimon that your digimon can defeat easily enough, and also gives around 24 points to your stats. (You get less points on normal and hard mode, which seem to just be the same difficulty level!)
The important thing is to battle digimon that are easy to defeat, while also giving that 24 stat boost to at least one stat to be worth fighting.
Once your digimon stop getting any decent stat boost from battling a digimon, you move on to fight a digimon that is tougher than the previous one.
With that said, fighting tough digimon doesn't always lead to getting decent stats.
But when your digimon are rookie level, there are a bunch of digimon that can give you good stats.
Rookie levels can get good stat boosts from other rookie level digimon, and anything higher than that is more likely to lead to better stats after each battle.
My digimon have already been through a couple of generations by this point, so they're able to take on much tougher champion level digimon, as I show in this part!
But if you don't have rookie level digimon that already have 1000 in each stat, here are some digimon I'd recommend battling to gain stats:
If your digimon get good stats from them, battle the Goblimon around the main hub area of nigh plains.
If your digimon don't get any real stat boost from them, and they are easy to defeat, then I'd suggest trying to battle the rookie level digimon in the other sections of nigh plains, as they are higher level. (Pay attention to the level before fighting them! And also be careful of the champion level digimon and the giant Numemon in nigh plains!)
Once your digimon are tough enough to easily defeat any of the rookie level digimon in nigh plains, move onto the path in server desert that leads to ohguino wastelands.
The Psychemon in this area give a good stat boost up until you get around 1000 in stats. (I can't remember when they stop giving the 24 stat boost, but it was probably around that number!)
The Garurumon (Black) at the back of this area can also be battled for a good stat boost, but only do so when your digimon are strong enough to easily defeat them.
And one other important thing to note: Always battle just one digimon at a time to maximise the amount of stats you can get, as each battle gives the same stat boost regardless of how many digimon you fight in one battle.
Doing this also makes the fights easier, and saves on time of having to exit and re-enter the area to respawn the digimon.
Overall: Focus on battling digimon that you can defeat easily that still give the 24 stat boost.
One other important thing to note is that you should pay attention to the fatigue bar for your digimon.
Once that starts to get close to half full, let your digimon rest for an hour before doing any further battles.
Another tip I'll give is to only use the gym for the last stretch of your digimon's evolution.
Once you've got the most out of battling other digimon, use the gym to give them more HP and MP. (Battles don't tend to give much of a boost to these stats!)
The reason this is very useful to do during the rookie stage is because later evolution stages make it harder to find digimon that give good stat boosts, so make the most of that stage with battles!
And now with all of those tips out of the way, onto the training my digimon went through in this part!
As I already mentioned, my digimon were pretty strong already at the start of the video.
So in search of stronger digimon to fight, I battle some of Vegiemon, RedVegiemon and a Woodmon in ohguino wastelands.
I also obtain the ivy that KaiserGreymon needs, which leads to me going to sever desert.
With the first item obtained, he now tasks us with bringing him a speed chip. (This quest gets pretty tedious!)
Not having one on hand, I decide to try my luck fighting the champion level digimon in the area.
I spend a good amount of time here fighting Nanimon, who kept giving the 24 stat boost when I had some stats over 2000!
By the time I got back to the city to focus on training at the gym, both of my digimon had every stat over 2000! (This generation is going to be much stronger than the previous one!)
After some training at the gym the next day, my digimon digivolve to champion level.
Red digivolves into Kabuterimon, and Blue digivolves into Growlmon.
So with my digimon back to champion level, and my plan being to off screen train my digimon for a few in game days, what will happen next? Find out in the next part!
