Empire Earth II is real-time strategy game developed by Mad Doc Software and published Vivendi Universal Games and their subsidiary Sierra Entertainment. It was first released on April 26, 2005 for Windows.
The game largely retains the gameplay of its predecessor, Empire Earth: players pick a civilisation, build a base, gather resources, research technologies, train armies, and advance through various epochs of human history.
New features include a picture-in-picture mode to survey specific parts of the battlefield, and a planning mode to coordinate attacks with allies. Also new are resources that are only available in some epochs, but then become obsolete and are replaced by other special resources.
Empire Earth II has 14 civilisations: Americans, British, Germans, Greeks, Romans, Babylonians, Egyptians, Turks, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans., Aztecs, Incas, and Mayans. Each civilisation has a unique unit that is an especially powerful variant of a generic unit.
In addition to skirmish and multiplayer, the game also has several singleplayer campaigns. In addition to a counterfactual Aztec introductory campaign, they focus on the founding of the Korean state of Gojoseon, the origins of Germany as unified country, and America's recent and speculative future history. There are also several scenarios about historical turning points in which the player can pick one of two historical sides.
