Let's Play Final Fantasy 3 PR Part 2 [PS5] New World (Blindish)
🐧 Welcome to our blindish let's play Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster Part 2 for the PS5: New World. I have little idea of what I'm embarking into. Like FF2, I did play this once before but my memories of it are marked by only 3 details. First off, this game uses job classing! Secondly, you NEED to job class to mages at certain points to go mini (which I didn't like). And lastly, going to the boss at the end of the game and getting immediately one shotted only to be tasked to redo the final dungeon again (about 2 hours worth) to get back (which I REALLY disliked!). I don't remember the story or how the game plays out, so I'm calling this blindish and would ask you to not spoil anything. I'm hoping to revisit this game and figure out if it's truly the not-so-great-experience or a really good game, like I found out FF2 was thanks to the Pixel Remaster version. Come join us, as the characters will be named after community members (not just YouTube members, just people hanging out with us and being a part of the number one YouTube Community in All of YouTube!).

🐧 Thank you Square (oh right, Square-Enix!) for this amazing universe of games.
🐧 About #FinalFantasy 3 #PixelRemaster (from metacritic): When darkness falls and the land is robbed of light, four young heroes are chosen by the crystals to head off an exciting journey across a vast and hostile land.
This critically-acclaimed entry in the series innovated with a flexible job system, which lets characters change their roles in combat at any time. Many of the most famous elements of Final Fantasy started here too - for example, it was the first to introduce summons, including series mainstays Bahamut and Shiva!
79% on Metacritic with a 5.2 user rating (from the PC, which probably are due to the fonts the pixel remasters released with). Some reviews:
- Gamer Escape 90%: They’re charming. They feel like a sudden rush of nostalgia not because they’re exactly the games you remember, but the rare form of remaster that does add some stuff on top while still preserving all of the spirit and intent perfectly.
- CG Magazine 85%: The first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters deftly walk the line between old and new, but might not convert anyone without the stomach for old JRPGs.
- RPG Fan 80%: Ultimately, if I was going to recommend one NES-era Final Fantasy to anyone, it would be Final Fantasy III. You can feel the sheer genre-pushing joy on screen as you play. This version of Final Fantasy III removes many of the original’s frustrating elements, but it still feels like an RPG of its era, for good or ill. The job system might not be that complex, the story might not be that engaging, and the exploration might be frustrating. But without this game bridging the gap between the early era and the SNES, we wouldn’t have gotten to Square’s golden age. It’s worth playing for that reason alone.
- Tom Tom Sebek 10/10: Excellent, excellent remaster. Stays true to the original, and gives the game a clean, upgraded look for modern gaming.
