1Time to finish up the Barrier Tower. Make sure to rest and save before you reach the top of the tower. Before the party can destroy the antenna,they'll have to deal with it's guardian first. Boss: Atomos. Atomos has a simple pattern. He'll use Comet to deal a bunch of damage to a single party member to knock them out. Then he'll just focus on trying to drag them over towards him to eject them from battle. If you try to raise said party member,he'll go back to casting Comet again until they're dead. He'll also cast Gravity on occasion. If you want to cheese this fight,you can cast Dark Spark to make his level a multiple of 5. Then cast Level 5 Death to kill him instantly! Once defeated,the antenna will be destroyed! Sadly,Xezat ends up trapped in the basement of the tower. He ends up stuck down there while it explodes...poor Galuf. This does indeed get rid of the barrier around Exdeath's Castle at least. The party regroups at Xezat's Submarine. We can now use the Sub to travel underwater! You can also rest here too. We could go straight to Sage Ghido's cave next,but instead we'll make a detour. Northwest on the World Map underwater you'll find a cave. Pass through here and you'll find an isolated forest area. Here you'll randomly run into a creature called Catoblepas. This thing will continually try to Petrify everyone with Evil Eye,and also counters attacks with it. You can make this fight easier if you have a Beastmaster. Try to Capture an Ironback from the cave leading here. If you Release it against Catoblepas,it should deal enough damage to kill it instantly! This'll get you Catoblepas as a new Summon! You can reach Ghido's Cave near the center of the World Map underwater. Main enemies you'll run into here are Dark Aspics and Metamorphs. The former can be dispatched easily with Ifrit or Fire spells. The latter can change into various other monsters,including summons like Shiva and Ramuh.
