Last run we played Galatica and died pretty quickly. We unlocked Pegasus though, and it fairs much, much better.


FTL is a pretty great game. It's cheap, well designed, and with some pretty awesome music. That being said, it is another modern rougelike and is brutally difficult.

It's easy mode is comparable to other games impossible settings. Normal is by that effect, pretty insane. The new major update added a hard setting. May god have mercy on your soul if you try that.

Anyway, FTL let's plays are pretty common so I wanted to do something to make different, so I'm playing with the Battlestar Galatica mod. It replaces one of the races ships with Battlestars.

FTL is perfect for this mod. The faster in light drive in this game makes 'jumps' more like a long range teleport than a traditional warp drive. It also happens that in Battlestar Galatica that's exactly what their ftl drive does. It also takes time to recharge, BSG always refers to having to 'spool up' the ftl. In FTL you're also constantly on the run from the rebel forces, and in BSG they're on the run from the cylons. So yeah, this mod fits seamlessly into the game.
