Hi guys and welcome to a brand new series!
"Game of Thrones" by Telltale Games and my fingers were crossed that this one would be a good one, as GOT game releases in the past have only disappointed.
Being a Telltale game, Game of Thrones is essentially a point and click and quick time event experience, with its weight being in the choices you make within the game. It is established that your choices affect the outcome of situations and there lies the main "skill" in playing the game.
Telltale say on their website that their games are designed for anyone to be able to play them and there are certainly no complicated mechanics at play here. This is a story and character driven game, with hefty chunks of dialogue and plot, in which you are periodically given choices of actions or words and the story unfolds based on those choices.
The concept is nothing knew but the idea of this type of game and especially it being released in episodes is something that might benefit and suit GOT. With only episode one currently released it is too early to say anything for sure, though I'm pretty sure this initial episode will be seen as a slow but necessary starting point to more exciting episodes ahead.
