Base protection missions are still the worst things in the game, difficulty wise, just because the bases are apparently made out of tissue paper. They might as well be, anyway.
However, with a nigh-indestructable mech in your arsenal, every other type of mission is a breeze. And loading up six racks of short range homing missiles is lightweight enough to allow maximum armor and high air maneuverability on the biggest mech in the game. Yes, this is OP to an extreme, and really only vulnerable when more than a dozen mechs show up.
