Let's Play Metroid II: Return of Samus (BLIND) Part IV: Powerupappaloosa
ONCE AGAIN I AM USING THE SHIFT KEY TO TELL YOU TO NOT POST SPOILERS BECAUSE THIS LP IS STILL BLIND! THANK YOU! CARY ON!
In other news you may notice this is in HD. Please see below math as to find out why I uploaded of all things a GameBoy game in HD.
This episode is the second half of the last one. I get a lot of powerups here for some reason, and I think for the first time ever, don't die once! Watch to find out if my memory serves!
Anyway here be math. You have been warned:
So the raw video for this is 288 pixels high, because I record at double size, meaning that the raw video for it at regular size is 144 pixels. Either way the heights that YouTube will accept without re-sizing (using who knows what algorithm) are 240, 360, 480, 720 and 1080. Using VirtualDub I can resize the video using a nearest neighbour algorithm, meaning that I can get any multiple of 144 I want with no quality loss.
So the heights of video I can re-size this to are 144, 288 (which is what I was doing), 432, 576, 720, and so forth. Obviously seeing as 720 is one of the video heights YouTube Supports that is the choice because then YouTube won't re-size the video with some terrible algorithm that ruins this videos quality.
The quality is equal to what it would be at 144p if you watch in 720p. If I uploaded in lower resolution due to YoobTube being dumb I wouldn't get 144p quality.
Special thanks goes to TaleoftheToaster for making me pause to think about it and come up with the fact that this is the best way to do it even if this isn't exactly what he meant to make happen. I should probably put a plug to his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/TaleOfTheToaster
While I am at writing the longest video description ever I think I should take the time to do what a lot of LPers do in all of there video descriptions. Namely actually point out that I do have that thing that is called a Twitter. You can see me randomly post messages that are a hella lot shorter then this video description I seam to be writing.

Oh and even though I am fairly sure anyone who has bothered to read this far down into the video description already knows this but I do hang out quite a lot on A certian Lucky Lair. If you are an IRC user it's irc://irc.chatspike.net/TheLuckyLair
If you are an IRC new you can start here: https://client01.chat.mibbit.com/?server=irc.chatspike.net&channel=%23TheLuckyLair
Well until we convince you to use an actual chat client like that Chatzillia.seeing as Mibbit tends to suck. But you only really need to do that if you are going to come often.
