Let's Play Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks Prt. 5: It's Super Easy, Barely An Inconvenience (PS2)
consider this one something of a filler episode. We are now on the way to find the soul tomb and also Baraka. Raiden tells us that everytime someone is killed in this realm their souls get trapped in a tomb that shang tsung had built that he can use that supposedly he was going to use to overpower Shao Kahn.... But if thats the case then why are we still killing people? It sounds like we can effectively stop him if we break the chamber without killing anymore. Narratively speaking, this is just the game's way of justifying that 2 shaolin monks are allowed to kill throughout this game. Meanwhile Raiden is manipulating the 2 monks by gassing up Liu kang's ego and kinda validating Kung Lao's suspicions that something aint right behind the other's back. Also it's here that we get to see Shang Tsung return to his younger self. In the original timeline and MK9 Shang was turned back into his younger self thanks to Kahn after he proposed the idea of a new tournament in outworld and Kahn believed that it would give him an advantage to fight be returned to his younger self (why didnt he just do that in the first place?) so we get to see shang from MK2 here!
