Need for Speed: The Run was the franchise's first attempt at making a cinematic, story-driven game. It was also the first time critics slammed the series with scores in the 60s. It wasn't the last time that either of those happened. Was the final game for EA Black Box the beginning of the end for Need for Speed?

In this episode, we race out of San Francisco as we start The Run, a San Francisco to New York race where the winner takes home $25 million. Over 200 racers in exotic super and hyper cars want that prize too and we owe money to some unsavory characters. That means it's a race for our life as we beat and bang across the USA in The Run.
