Hey there everyone, and welcome to the ninth part of my playthrough of Neo: The World Ends With You, the long awaited sequel to 2007's The World Ends With You on Nintendo DS. We even did a (at times incredibly frustrating) catch-up playthrough of the Nintendo Switch re-release of the original just to be ready for this game!
In this ninth stream we return into Week 3 on Day 4, and we are still mourning the loss of Variabeauty leader Kanon (genuinely, I actually really liked her as a character, and her army of gay followers, slay queens!), and I suppose Shoka is still feeling bad for Ayano dying (I'm less bothered by that not gonna lie). We go on to find out some shocking truths about Tsugumi, we team up with a legendary Player, suffer a betrayal that I think we all saw coming at some point, and we manage to make our way through to the start of Day 6. The end is really on the horizon!

Neo: The World Ends with You (known in Japan as Shin Subarashiki Kono Sekai, or New It's a Wonderful World) is an action role-playing game co-developed by Square Enix and h.a.n.d. and published by Square Enix. This game is a sequel to the 2007 video game The World Ends with You. It was released for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in July 27th, 2021, and is planned to be released later in 2021 for Microsoft Windows. The story features a new cast of characters playing the Reapers' Game in Shibuya and, unlike the original game, now features three-dimensional graphics.
Set in a fictional version of Shibuya known as the UG (Underground), this plane of existence exists alongside the RG (Realground) where the residents live their every day lives. The UG is home to the Reaper's Game, where selected individuals are placed in life threatening situations to complete 7 days' worth of challenges to win a chance of returning to their RG lives (hey I got to steal that description word for word from my description of the first game). Rindo Kanade and his best friend Furesawa "Fret" Tosai unexpectedly end up in the midst of a new and very competitively organised Reaper's Game without even being aware that they've died first. They create the "Wicked Twisters" team to fight against other much more established teams to get first place by the end of the week and hopefully leave the game and return to life.
