6What transpired in Game 3 spoke volumes about this series. The Flyers played like there was no tomorrow. The home crowd was loud all throughout the game. But in the end, the Atlanta Thrashers, thanks to their terrific defense and spectacular goaltending from Kari Lehtonen, were able to hold off Philadelphia and take a commanding 3-0 series lead. What Game 3 has also signified is how much the Thrashers have matured as a franchise over the last 3 years. In 2007, they squandered home-ice advantage and were swept in the first round. In 2008, they once again squandered home-ice. However, they never gave up. They won 3 of their next 4 to force a game 7 at home, only to lose and be eliminated again. Now, they are up 3 games to none and are on the verge of their first playoff-series victory in franchise history. Will this be the night? Or will the Flyers extend the series by at least one game?
