Well, I can't believe I'm saying this but No More Heroes 2 is done!
In this part we watch the crazy short ending, and the final Sylvia cutscene.
I go over all my thoughts about the game during the credits, but here is a refresher for those who like to read.
No More Heroes 2 is a good game. But in my opinion, because I hold NMH1 so highly on my favourite games list, I have to say NMH2 is a "disappointing" sequel. There are a lot of things the game just does not do better than the first one. Starting with CONS...
- The town has been completely removed and replaced with a menu screen. I know that the town had nothing to do in it besides Point A - Point B, but it was still fun to drive around. They could have added to it and made it perfect but instead, they were just lazy.
- The bosses have no development (with a few exceptions). You do not even learn their names with the "voice" at the beginning of each Rank. Also a lot of the bosses can be cheap, and downright not fun to fight (New Destroyman, and Jasper Batt Jr. to name a few)
- Assassination Gigs have been removed entirely (as well as the need for money). It makes sense in the context of the story for Revenge Missions not to be redo-able, but it still is taking out a great component from NMH1
- Naomi is useless. 2 Beam Katana's and no upgrades? Really game?
- The plot holes from NMH1. I've have already complained about this so much in the LP, that I'll just leave it at this. Henry....how??
- Jasper Batt Jr.
Now for the PROS....
- The opening is fantastic. A brilliant introduction to the game.
- The beam katana's have more variety than NMH1 (but you will still find yourself most likely using Dualies forever, once you get them)
- The soundtrack is done by a variety of artists, and is fantastic. So much variety, and so much fantastic tracks
- Margaret Moonlight & Alice Twilight
Overall, a good game, but a lot of downgrades from the original. It could have been so much more. Still a game that is worth owning, and I look forward to seeing where SUDA51 takes the series next.
I hope you enjoyed this Let's Play, and I once again apologize for the massive delays I took while making this.
See ya!
