Let's Play Oblivion - The Heart of the Dead [Part 22]: Long Rating
Overall: 8.5/10
Graphics / Sound: 9.5/10
* Phenomenal custom music that fits perfectly with the atmosphere
* Custom textures and meshes, especially on armor and weapons, are well done
* Nightmare world / custom realm has an excellent sky design
* Good voice acting all-around, though many mismatching subtitles (not a big deal)
* Some events in the mod stop the custom music, which then doesn't loop or play again
* Some unnecessary dialogue, but doesn't really hinder the story
Story: 9/10
* In-depth storyline that actually features some character development through interaction and dreams
* Good plot twists that are cleverly used (Inar is forgotten about just long enough to surprise players who haven't already predicted what he would do)
* A variety of characters that are both likeable and unlikeable
* Enough back story is given so that the player knows what's going on, but some origins are still kind of left in the dark
* Engaging plot with a well-written climax
* Only minor holes that barely affect the story
Gameplay: 7.5/10 ((8/10 if nitpicky things don't bother your taste))
((* Minor NPC problems with following, as well as the "I have no greeting" issue for a short time; the description page does mention this, though))
* A major NPC problem with Wintermoon and/or (?) Kat - perhaps faction ratings or something similar...I'm not sure what happened here, but it would've been game-breaking (likely have to start over the HoD questline) had it not been for custom spells from other mods or console commands (which are not outs)
* Fun dungeons with interesting puzzles and enemies
* Occasionally an overabundance of enemies, but this isn't too much of an issue as it's an adventure mod
* Well-designed boss battles
* Event scripting on "nightmares" and White King items are particularly impressive
((* How do you pull 15 hours and "dozens" of new dungeons out of this?))
Player Bonuses: 8/10
* One NPC (or more maybe, depending on gameplay), some custom weapons / armor, and a small house
* The spells are neat, but ultimately don't do anything after the mod (minus the Summon NPC spell)
* Plenty of treasure littered throughout the dungeons, but some of it is overshadowed by other items in the mod, or general other things
