Today we descend into the depths of Penumbra Overture, a game developed as a Tech Demo by Frictional Games on the year of foundation: 2006. The demo was to show off their self-designed HPL1 engine (H.P. Lovecraft Engine) but the tech demo gained such a good response that Frictional turned it into an actual, fully fledged indie game and it's two sequels which carved a niche into the "True" Survival Horror Genre before making way to it's successor Amnesia: The Dark Descent in 2010.
