Follow me through my first Pikmin experience. Pikmin 3 improves and expands all things Pikmin! New gameplay mechanics, a few new Pikmin and 3 different control schemes (Wii-mote and nunchuk, Wii U Pad, or Wii U Pro Controller) to play with are just a few things to look forward too! Just like in the other Pikmin games you control a squad of up to 100 Pikmin, using their unique traits and abilities to tackle obstacles and solve a plethora of puzzles (for example just like in previous Pikmin games red Pikmin are immune to fire).
New to the series the player is in control of 3 different leaders (before Pikmin 3, 2 leaders were the maximum that were able to be controlled). And this time Olimar is not one of the them! - you control either Charlie, Alph or Brittany switching between them to accomplish things quicker or to solve puzzles.
Pikmin 3 doesn't have to be played just single player; a new competitive multiplayer mode known as Bingo Battle has been introduced (played via split-screen). In Bingo Battle two players compete to get 4 in a row on a 4X4 grid of items to collect.
Pikmin 3 sounds and looks fantasic - it is a "must-own" on the Wii U - Hey! I'd even consider it a reason to go and buy them system if you don't already own it.
