Well, they used to be fire type pokemon. No idea what they are now, and won't until I catch them....much, much later. The game corner can't come soon enough so I can savescum some money to buy more pokeballs.
Randomizing types and spawns does add a degree of difficulty. On the other hand, Misty might not be the roadblock I remember her being...she could be worse by orders of magnitude, but she could also be much weaker without a recovering pokemon.
