Let's Play: P.T. - Postmortem Tribute - PS4
P.T., the playable teaser for Silent Hills published by Konami under the guise of "7780s Studio," was released exclusively on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4 on August 12, 2014. The game was to be developed by Kojima Productions, headed by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, directed by Guillermo Del Toro, and starring Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead.
After word got out in March of 2015 that Kojima would be leaving Konami and that Kojima Productions would be no more, speculation began on the future of Silent Hills. In late April 2015, Konami confirmed that the game - in its "embryonic" conception as being a collaboration between Kojima and del Toro - is scrapped and their contract period with Reedus has expired. On April 30, 2015, P.T. was removed from the PlayStation Store. As of this publishing, Silent Hills is, at best, being reworked from scratch with Konami looking for a new development studio and, at worst, completely dead.
As a postmortem tribute to the project, Roland and I sit down for one last play through of the playable teaser that took the world by storm in 2014 and discuss the ever murky future of Silent Hill and its already tarnished legacy.
