ALTERNATE ENDING 8: After getting the trap book go and visit Gehn. Refuse to go through when he offers you to. He'll then give you time to think it over and access to his books. After he leaves, go back to Riven and open up the star fissure. Everything collapses but Atrius doesn't arrive. Gehn nor his henchman come to. I guess you might get to go back home here from what Atrius said from another ending. Not sure.
Alternately, you can get this ending if you save really early then get the code from Catherine's book and load the early save spot and enter the code into the star fissure there.
But mainly you get this ending because you are opening the star fissure without having the prison trap book on you.
