Lets Play Shifted Deus Ex – Part 39
4Welcome to Deus Ex everyone! This FPS was well ahead of it's time when it was first released back in 2001, and remains among my favorites to dust off every so often. Stealth, stabbing, speech – the game allows you to play through the story as you prefer with a skill system, and augmentations to customize your play.
The topics in the game are rather serious as well – terrorism, misuse of technology, discussions about plagues and the future of nano-technology. I'm impressed with the variety of topics the game brought up to consider back then; many of which are applicable today as well.
To wrap up this description – we'll be playing this game with the Shifter mod. This tweaks the game in several ways, some slight (random loot on people) some major (some mods have been altered, and upgrades can be had a bit more easily). I plan to talk and walk through most of it – so this will be a slower play through of the game than many I suspect.
