Let's Play Soma Part 1 - The Slow Beginning
Welcome to a new let's play!
This is let's play Soma!
With a title like that, what kind of game is this?
Well Soma is a psychological horror game with a pretty good story, some monsters, a dark and lonely atmosphere, and the ever present question in the game being, what does it mean to be human?
But that's just a brief summary of what to expect from the game! So onto what happens in the first part of this lp!
We start off with our protagonist, Simon, waking from a nightmare where he got in a car crash with a friend.
Waking up to the sound of someone calling his phone, Simon answers the call and talks to a man named Munshi about a brain scan that he has scheduled for the day.
From this call we learn that Simon really was in a car accident, and that said accident led to his brain getting damaged.
After finishing the call, our objective is to take the tracer fluid that Munshi told Simon to take, and then get to the meeting with Munshi so Simon can get his brain scanned.
While trashing Simon's apartment in search of the tracer fluid, we learn a bit more about Simon from the various things in his apartment.
One noteworthy thing is a newspaper clipping that confirms that Simon's friend, Ashley, died in the very same car crash that gave him brain damage.
After eventually finding and taking Simon's meds, I head out of the room and get on a train.
While on the train, Simon gets a call from his friend, who wishes him good luck with the scan.
Upon arriving at the location where we're supposed to meet Munshi, the place appears to be deserted.
With a very slow start to a game that gets way more interesting when the plot starts to pick up, what will happen next? Find out in the next part!
And as I often do with the video description for the first part of a new let's play, I'd just like to say I hope you viewers enjoy this new let's play!
