Super Mario Land for the Nintendo Gameboy is not the best game in the franchise. However; with the popularity of the original Gameboy I would argue that Super Mario Land is one of the most important games in the franchise. For most of us, this was the first time we could take our favorite plumber on the go!

In this installment our mushroom loving hero needs to rescue Daisy by traveling 12 levels. This was also the first Mario game to feature shoot'em up style stages. The music was memorable and world bosses were unique for the time.

For me Super Mario Land for the original Nintendo Gameboy is an absolute classic. I can still remember opening it on Christmas day and playing it on long car rides to my grandparents house. This game holds a special place in my heart.
