While everyone was watching The Game Awards, a new playable demo appeared on the Xbox Series X|S and Playstation 5 stores: The Matrix Awakens.

It's an Unreal Engine 5 sandbox, showing us what UE5 is capable off thanks, rendering a Real-Time virtual Manhattan full of people, cars and even office spaces you can look into.

After an exciting Chase sequence, we're given free control over a new character and you can walk, drive or fly through the map and freely explore. There are points of interest to interact with and I even found a Jump Area with ramps.

But the real feat here is how fast you can blaze through the map with lifelike visuals, lighting, effects and human behaviour. Truly impressive.
