The game reaches its climax as the group begins to piece together the events leading up to the fateful night. Emily's section in the mines is one of the most intense parts of the chapter. After surviving a near-death experience, she explores the dark, claustrophobic tunnels filled with terrifying traps and lurking threats. This sequence requires careful timing and quick decisions to keep Emily alive. I'll show you how I guided her through the deadly passages, dodging enemies and escaping the horrors within.
After the group regroups, Mike and Chris confront Josh, who's been a central figure in the psycho's plot. The revelation that Josh was behind the earlier horrors shocks everyone, but Mike and Chris decide to take him away to keep him safe. They escort Josh to the Scene of the Saw Trap. This emotional moment is full of tension as Josh’s psychological state becomes clear.
Emily's journey through the mines continues in Chapter 9 as she navigates through dangerous terrain and encounters even more terrifying threats. This section is filled with quick-time events and fast-paced decisions that determine her fate. I made sure to stay on top of the action to keep Emily safe as she dodged the Wendigo.
The group is confronted by the mysterious flame thrower man, who has been tracking the Wendigos all along. He explains the true nature of the creatures and the curse that haunts Blackwood Mountain, revealing that their return to the mountain a year later has awakened the Wendigos. This moment is a pivotal one for the group as they realize the true danger they’re in.
After the revelation, Chris and the flame thrower guy head out to the old saw building where Mike and Chris previously restrained Josh. They plan to retrieve him and regroup with the others, but things take a dark turn. Upon arriving at the building, they discover Josh is missing—taken by a Wendigo. The atmosphere is tense as they realize they are being hunted, and the Wendigo quickly begins stalking them through the snowy paths.
In one of the chapter’s most heart-stopping moments, the flame thrower guy is ambushed and brutally killed by a Wendigo as they make their way back to the lodge. Chris is forced to flee, narrowly avoiding the Wendigo's attack. I had to make quick decisions to keep him alive, guiding him through the terrifying encounter as we raced to safety.
Mike making his way back into the Sanatorium to face the Wendigos. Armed and prepared, I carefully navigated him through the eerie halls, avoiding and confronting Wendigos in a series of quick-time events. Mike's goal is to survive the horrors while learning more about the dark secrets buried in the mountain.
Chapters 8 and 9 of Until Dawn offer a thrilling and terrifying conclusion to the game, where every decision counts. As the group’s fate unfolds, the tension and stakes are higher than ever. With gripping storytelling, intense action, and moments of true horror, this playthrough will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
