Hello youtubers, my name is karbengo.

Today, I have decided to start a let's play project. The game I choose ins't a very well known one, yet it recently became one of my favorite on the Playstation 2. It's a game by japanese developers Micro Cabin and published by KOEI. It released in 2006 in North America and Japan. And so I present you:

Naval Ops Warship gunner II

Warship Gunner 2 is the sequel to Naval Ops: Warship Gunner from Koei wich debuted in 2003.

So, what is this game about? If you ever played any Armored Core game, this is it right there. This is Armored Core... with ships.
This is a third person action game where you collect ship parts and use them to build your vessel from the keel up.

The game is set in the year 1939 of an alternate universe, and thus features technology from the WWII era in the real world, but it also features an arsenal of more advance weapons like missiles, railguns and lasers.

You start off with an escort vessel from the 30s, and as you work you way up, you gain access to new vessel classes like cruiser, battleship and aircraft carrier. Of course, at the beginning you're quite limited to WWII tech but later in the game you'll start to get the realy cool stuff. It will be very evident to you during this let's play as my ships will improve gradualy missions after missions.

So, here I am, starting this project. I wanted to make a let's play of this game because I feel it is very underated. I had personnaly tons of fun playing it and I still do to this day. I strongly recommend it to everyone, especialy if you appreciate the building aspect from Armored Core and alike.

The other reason beeing it's the occasion for me to improve my english. As you may have noticed I am not a native english speaker. I live in Brussels, in Belgium. And my first language is french.

I first learned english at school, and then by roaming the internet. But I never had the occasion to realy speak with an english man. So please excuse my clumsiness. It realy takes me a lot of effort to speak like that, even though, this is pre recorded and I am reading from my text. Though, I will try to do live commentary for my let's play, I promise.

So back to the point, I want to make an LP because I hope to have fun doing it, and I hope you viewers, will have fun too watching me play and/or snigger at my bad accent... you have been warned!

For the purpose of this let's play I will be using an emulator. It is the best technologic solution for me. First because I don't have the equipment to hook my console to my computer and start recording like that. And then, because Warship Gunner II was actualy never released in the PAL territories. And so it would not run on my PAL console anyway.

Now, how this let's play will turn out? I will play the main campain one time. Then, I intend to play it a second time in new game plus mode. The new game plus mode features added difficulty, of course, and also new advance ship parts, unavailable so far. And finaly the ending is expended.

I intend to record one or two missions by episodes, depending on the length of the missions. And then I may make bonus videos featuring extra missions, ship assembling, etc.
