Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a 2019 cooperative first-person shooter. It was developed by MachineGames and Arkane Studios, and published by Bethesda Softworks. Wolfenstein: Youngblood was first released on July 25, 2019 for Windows, and a day later for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
The game is set twenty years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. B.J. Blazkowicz has mysteriously disappeared, and his twin daughters Jessie and Zofia travel to Nazi-controlled Paris to investigate what happened to their father.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is divided between a handful lengthy main mission as well as side mission that the Blazkowicz twins do for members of the French Resistance. The player either takes control of one girl and plays alongside her AI-controlled twin, or joins another human player.
The perk system from the mainline MachineGames Wolfenstein games has been expanded to a light RPG system with levelling for characters and weapons, a skill system, and unlockable weapon upgrades. Many enemies are weak to certain weapons, and scale alongside the player.
Like its companion title, Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, Wolfenstein: Youngblood received mixed reviews. Critics compared it unfavourably to its predecessors, but were more positive on its gunplay and visual style.
