Let’s Replay Covert Action – The Ariane Files [Case 17B]
We got very lucky when we went after the mastermind and our reward is the list of all the plot participants. What's better is that we know where most of them are down to the building they call home, all thanks to uncovering the action list of one of the organisations while seeking the masterind's location. This means that we can focus on finding the master plan and turning as many of the criminals as possible, provided they don't go into hiding.
Going after the mastermind has one downside you don't often consider: it gives the planners and organisers in a case the chance to relay all their messages and go into hiding before you start looking for them. While it's true that they can send most of their messages before you even begin the case, there's always a window of opportunity to catch them, no matter how small. It's not all bad if they do go into hiding, however; Going after the mastermind does net you far more points than taking out the planner and you can always scrape a couple of points back by learning stuff about them using filing cabinets.
