An unfortunate example of the strange evolution of Castlevania over the years. Developed by Konami and Eighting and released in 2008 in North America, Judgement is the series first and probably last fighting game.
While not a bad idea in concept, the game tries to incorporate the Wii remote and Nunchcuk into gameplay with disastrous results. Anything that features swinging the Wii controller as a form of control is a risky gamble and anyone who plays this game will lose.
Like most fighting games, Judgement features an ensemble cast; this one filled with nearly unrecognizable series legends. For better or worse all the characters look like they just walked out of a cosplay convention. If you didn't know the characters by name you'd have no idea who they were, and if you did know them by name you probably wouldn't believe your eyes.
The story, so far as I'm aware, is a convoluted mess. What I have seen pits old friends and enemies against each other for no reason and gives no explanation for why vampire hunters and old allies are fighting against each other instead of working together against Dracula.
Add terrible cutscenes and voice acting that rivals Silent Hill 2 or a toddler with a microphone and the game becomes a miserable car crash of an experience that had to have disappointed fans of the series.
