It's the Indie Game Wednesday roundup for Wednesday, May 26th, 2021.
- Intro: 00:00
- If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers: 02:16
- Odd Realm: 53:40
I'm not going to re-hash the whole description of If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers, since I did that last week. What I will say is: I don't quite get that last (third) story, and I'm a bit bummed that situational context was shoehorned in right at the very end. I think it would have stood better without it.
Odd Realm is a City Builder/survival game where you, a god I guess, have to help your settlers by telling them how to do literally everything. I fumbled my first play, but I think I figured it out. I also ended up playing it for an extra hour, so if that's not a recommendation, I'm not sure what is. I will say that I wish the UI had a contrast setting, and better UI scaling. Also the tutorial leaves something to be desired, but that's not shocking given it's in EA. I hope that gets ironed out before the game hits v1.
