Dead State was kickstarted in July 2012, and it is now getting slowly completely ready.
The game just got released as an early access game in steam in February 2014. As one could see the game is not yet finished, and you will only be able to play the first 7 days in this early access demo. It is supposed to be completely finished in the summer of 2014, approximately in next 3-5 months.
It is available at steam with a slightly cheaper price point at this point, the price being around 24.99 dollars when the finished game is going to be around 30 dollars as the developers have said. If your interested in the game do give it a go at least at some point. I think the demo of the first days is supposed to be free to try after the game gets released, but I am not 100% sure about this fact.
Nonetheless this early access demo will become a full game, and will not need to be bought again if you want to buy it now while it is in early access.
