It's the Indie Game Wednesday roundup for Wednesday, June 03th, 2021.

- Task Force Kampas: 1:07:10
- A Wish Upon a Star: 1:40:37

The Terra Nil demo is, well, a demo! The game is a puzzle/strategy deal where you are tasked with reintroducing life to a blasted wasteland. You have to grow grass and spread water, and then construct biomes to diversify the land. Then you have to clean up after yourself. You know the saying: Take only pictures, leave only fully-constructed biodiverse, vibrant biomes. It's a lot of fun, and so peaceful. The art and music is wonderful to boot.

Task Force Kampas is a very busy, shaky SHMUP where you Always Be Shooting, except when you need to heal, and then you have to stop shooting. Those are the mechanics, and it's very hectic and challenging. There's also a weapon powerup mechanic, but truth be told I didn't quite figure that out. I think I nearly beat the game, but died right at the end. Shame. I would have enjoyed the game more if the screen shake wasn't turned up to 11, and the colours didn't all blur together.

A Wish Upon a Star is an isometric exercise in making me feel very dumb. It's a puzzle game about raising, lowering, and rotating blocks to to navigate your little space-loving child avatar to the endzone mat. It's very pretty, and the puzzles are really good, but I am not nearly smart enough, or at least in the right mindset to solve them without feeling bad.
