I'm going to be honest: I don't really know how to describe the plot of this game, because I'm still figuring out what the heck is going on. Here's what I can tell you: We are on some sort of space ship. The ship is full of plants and creatures. We wake up and find a sword, and a ghost? that's attached to it. We are tasked with removing The Dreamers, which another person on the ship is very upset about when we do it. We seem to revive something bad, and then time resets... sort of. It's weird.
Confusion aside, I am very intrigued by the game. It's a visual spectacle, the music is fantastic, and the combat is really approachable. The roguelike element comes in the form of a skilltree that resets every loop. You can slowly retain some of the skills on each loop, assuming you've found the memory mushrooms to do so. You learn skills by eating plants and animal meats, which fill up various bars of ....something that you exchange to learn stuff. It's an interesting system, if a bit obtuse to approach the first time.
I have no idea what's going on in this game, but I am very intrigued.
