Now to take on our first gym leader!...I lied, just like May I need to do some training and catch a Nincada and Ralts! And run around and talk to people in town! You'll get some cool things, most notably the Quick Claw.
Now, glad that's over, it's Rustboro Gym Time!
So, Rock Types huh? Fairy Simple, considering the LITERAL ONLY POKEMON YOU FIGHT ARE GEODUDES. I wish I was kidding. And even then the main thing you need to watch out for is their ability Sturdy, which allows them to survive an attack that would normal kill it in 1 hit. Other then that...just watch out for Rock Attacks...and even then they mostly use Defense Curl.
Okay, Roxanne Time! Bring it on Missy! First up is a Geodude with Sturdy and Rock Tomb, but keep in mind Roxanne will heal it, which can reset it's Sturdy if it gets to full health. After that is a Nosepass! Which is much slower but has a ton more defense, and will also constantly Rock Tomb. And done! Stone Badge! And now we can use Cut!...Was that a Team Magma? Meh, it'll be fine.
Also there are areas to go back to with our Cut, mostly in Petalburg Woods there
