Libretta Part 3 | Anyone Got a Tissue Box? (END)
4In this episode we get both endings and I cry over how relatable the plot is.
So that's the end of Libretta! Here's my thoughts now that I've finished playing.
It's easy for me to feel sad because I can relate to characters, but when it comes to actually crying you have to genuinely distress me to a high degree. Of the games I've played I can only really remember crying during Your Turn to Die, Witch's Heart and Hello Charlotte. So to say this game effected me to the point I had to stop to wipe away my tears and do deep breaths to calm me down from potentially having a panic attack from the distress, that really tells you how emotionally hitting this game is.
That's not a bad thing. I think the message this game has is something many people need to hear. I think a lot of games about the suffering of trans characters takes place from the trans character in questions perspective, however, this game is told from the point of her sister. I think it's important to show not only the pain trans people go through, but also the perspective of the people that care about and support them. It was painful going back to do the bad ending with this game, because the happy ending truly was a cathartic experience for me.
This game addressed a lot of my fears, as I am trans, I fear coming out to certain family members. It definitely felt sometimes like I was reading my own thoughts and I really applaud vghime for their writing and allusions and just... everything about this was beautifully structured.
The most important thing to take away with life is what this game showed: Instead of rejecting others, making them feel like there is something wrong with them, if we all tried to be understanding and strive to help us all be on the path of happiness then we will all truly live Happily Ever After. So the next time you think about looking down on someone for their beliefs, identity, anything really.. Try to think of how to strive so everyone could live life to their fullest with happiness instead.
