This year, Canada had a record heatwave which scientists say was impossible without climate change. Wildfires engulfed Patrick Michell’s hometown of Lytton after it reached 49.5°C. Now he and his community must plan for an uncertain future. Meanwhile, an environmental protest against the logging industry becomes the largest act of civil disobedience Canada’s ever seen.

'Since I was a child, I've seen changes in ecosystems. I've seen less water. If you abuse the land, climate change is a logical consequence'. Patrick Michell's family has lived in the town of Lytton for generations. In 2021, the town was razed to the ground by wildfire. Amid the heatwave, protests erupted against Canada's logging industry. 'People have come together to protect some of the last remaining old growth trees', explains activist 'Rainbow Eyes'.
