This is a critique on Life is Strange. I will be talking through the game chapter by chapter, focusing mainly on the decisions the player makes and the impact they make on the game's story.

Life is Strange feels like a TV show with its episodic format, high school drama, and science fiction premise. The mechanics themselves feel like an evolution of Telltale's choice mechanics, as Max has the ability to rewind time, thus allowing the player to see their choices play out, and then rewind time and choose another path if they wish.

Do these choices matter however? The game tackles many rough subjects. Abuse, suicide, euthanasia, and the philosophical quandary of if one life is worth more than the lives of many. Through the game we make choices in regards to these circumstances, but in the end, they mostly felt meaningless to me as a player. The video helps to explain why, including why I chose what might be considered the 'bad ending' at the conclusion of chapter 5.
