Lighting Solution Using the Eclipse Kapua and Eclipse Kura Platforms | Virtual IoT
// Meetup Abstract:
Considering that the Internet of Things (IoT) devices are transforming the world, as we know it currently, there are a number of solutions that can be offered using IoT technology. The scope of the solutions that can be provided is limitless. We picked a specific area in an IoT lighting solution. Our goal was to provide a solution with which one can manage, control, monitor and maintain millions of light fixtures remotely through a web browser or a mobile app.
With our knowledge of building a smart water meter solution ground-up, we wanted to architect an end-to-end solution that is flexible, robust, standardized and well maintained for this lighting solution we conceived. We followed the Eclipse IoT software evolution and found it appropriate to incorporate it in our software architecture. We implemented our solution using two main Eclipse projects, namely Kapua and Kura. Our end-to-end architecture involves these two modules at its core, forming the most essential parts of our lighting solution.
