In the Wildlands, Lightning has just healed up the Angel of Valhalla to the point where she can ride him. This alone will help her get around the Wildlands much more quickly. However, she still needs to feed him to strengthen him. For now, she climbs aboard the chocobo's back and starts riding around.

Up by the Wildlands Station, she finds Brella (time 1:34). Brella has lost her dog, Clove. This initiates the quest "Mother and Daughter."

Southwest of the Wildlands Station, Lightning can enter the Rocky Crag (time 6:20). This place is crawling with Valis and Hanumans. To end their monkey business quickly, use wind attacks. In battles with Valis and Hanumans, go after the Valis first; they can charge up the Hanumans for a powerful attack. A Sparkbane Brooch will also help a great deal.
