Part 13 - The Final Day - Eternal Light

With the final day upon them, Lightning and company meet up to prevent the Soulsong and save who they can aboard the Ark. With everyone's souls in the balance, the Savior defies Almighty Bhunivelze as she accomplishes her end of the bargain, hoping to meet the end of their dying world with a new world free from the shackles of fate and gods.

NOTE: Apparently Squeenix has a bot specifically to block out pretty much the entire CGI finale of this trilogy, so @1:48:50 it suddenly cuts out a huge chunk of footage. I didn't feel like weirdly editing the image/sound or contest something like this where I likely won't be paid attention to anyways, so make sure to search around YouTube for videos that got away with showing the entire ending cutscene, including the post-credits! I wanted to make abundantly clear it's not my mistake only the credits seemed to survive after the final boss; it's simply Squeenix employing a specific cutscene blocking bot, so I understand if that makes it difficult to stick around this video where the ending matters the most. le shrug

Besides that particularly annoying quirk, I hope you enjoyed Lighting Returns, or the entire Trilogy if you made it this far! I enjoyed the confidence and production values put into their vision of this particular line of Final Fantasy games, even if they get a bad rap online, and sometimes for valid reasons. I find them flawed but mostly enjoyable experiences, as the care they put into the cutscenes outdo even those of later entries, which goes to show how important presentation can be. At least for me, many still despise these games, but that's the beauty of conversation and discourse!

May this trilogy eventually get proper remasters for optimized performances on any and all future platforms, so they play smoothly and look as good as the art direction presents itself as. I'll see you around and hope you have a good rest of your day!
