On July 16, 2022, Nathan and I headed back to Kentucky Kingdom for both of our second ever visit! I think we overall had a better time than our 2021 trip, despite larger crowds and extreme heat. Lightning Run surpassed Storm Chaser as both of our favorite rides in the park, we finally rode our first Larson Superloop in Eye of the Storm, and Giant Wheel, their 150-foot-tall Vekoma Ferris wheel, was finally open!
Kentucky Kingdom is an amusement park located in Louisville, Kentucky, and is operated by Herschend Family Entertainment. It is home to six roller coasters, most of which focus on airtime, a decent included waterpark, and a few wacky flat rides.
The park is most easily accessed by car, but can be accessed by a nearby city bus stop, walking, or cycling if you're brave enough to face some really pedestrian-hostile roads.
