While visiting Carowinds on August 18th, 2022, I got to check out the construction of Carowinds' new-for-2023 themed area Aeronautica Landing! The area replaces Crossroads, and will be themed around flight with 5 brand new modern flat rides replacing 3 older flats that have been removed from Crossroads.
Many construction fences block off what used to be Crossroads; all the previous Crossroads flat rides have already been removed, and they are currently working on blasting apart the old pavement. However, work had not yet started on any of the new theming elements or installation of any of the new flats, but I don't anticipate seeing that until Crossroads has been demolished in full.
Carowinds is an amusement park owned by Cedar Fair located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a neat concept for a park, as it straddles the border between North and South Carolina.
