Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio looks back into its own history and the history of Japan itself to revive a Yakuza spin-off. The developer is remaking Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin for modern consoles as Like a Dragon: Ishin. RGG Studio explains how it used Unreal Engine to reinvent the original and rejuvenate the Bakumatsu period of Japanese history, where the game finds its setting.
