Making her debut in style on Colorize this week is British / Japanese producer Lili Chan, a unique producer / multi-instrumentalist who imbues her hypnotic dance floor-ready productions with her love for traditional Japanese sonics and instruments. Opening track 'Tell Me', which is also showcased in a more techno-leaning 'Kurayami Mix', is built around addictive vocal chops, rumbling 808s and glittering synths, set to a delightfully energising pace. 'Hikari' meanwhile is a more ethereal offering, with its sprawling, arpeggiated synths the focus, under which thick, contorted bass and groovy percussion come alive. It's an undeniably impressive debut on Colorize from Lili Chan who is just getting started.
