Lima Class 47 Diesel Locomotive | Intercity Swallow 47848 | OO Gauge | Model Train | Review | HD
Been a while since I have done any Lima model trains as I think the last one I did was around 2018. How time flies! ๐. Here is my review of the Lima Class 47 Diesel Locomotive in the Intercity Swallow livery as 47848 and the model is in OO Gauge. Slightly larger than HO scale but OO gauge model trains will run just fine on HO scale model railroad train tracks.
This is a nice alternative to the Bachmann model for those on a budget that may not be able to afford the newer model trains and this at the present time has been the case for me. I am not supported, not financed or sponsored by any company or organisations so I do tend to fund this model trains myself and I have the freedom to make my own judgements on these models with a neutral unbiased point of view.
The Lima Class 47 is still a good value choice today for modellers on a budget and the only downside is the basic detailing and the ringfield motors can be sluggish when cold but they are reliable and they are easy to maintain as well. They are more louder than the newer model trains but we cannot expect a model train from the 1980's or 1990's to have all the modern technology of the newer stuff can we? ๐.
